This week, our Spike crew left on an exciting journey to Big Basin State Park to begin reopening the trails closed by the CZU Lightning Complex Fire in 2020. Over the next 10 days, they will camp, hike, and work on fire fuel reduction. Later, they'll tackle trail construction. Best of luck, and we look forward to all the updates!
Today, Friday, June 14th, we celebrate National Service and Conservation Corps Day! This special day honors the incredible achievements of Corps programs over the past 90+ years and recognizes the dedication of the young adults serving in Corps, who work tirelessly to improve our communities, lands, and waters. This day is also an opportunity to raise awareness about the importance of Corps' in maintaining our public lands and waters.
The best way to raise awareness is on social media! If you have any cool pictures you'd like to share, we encourage you to post them with the hashtag #ServeOutdoors. We are also posting, so keep an eye out on our social media channels, you may see a picture of you or someone you know!
Today, we honor and express our deepest gratitude to our hardworking corpsmembers!! Thank you!
