This week's photo features our volunteering event in collaboration with Wells Fargo. Volunteers from Wells Fargo and our construction team worked together to paint a newly constructed portable dwelling unit (PDU). Our construction team has been working hard to construct two new units, and with the help of our volunteers from Wells Fargo, started the painting job. Amazing work team!

Over the past couple of years, corpsmembers have been quick to respond to disasters in places like Guam, North Carolina, Florida, and LA. Every mission assignment to another state or city is a step toward rebuilding and recovery. The work corpsmembers have been helping with includes warehouse management, mucking and gutting, chainsaw work, stormwater management, and more. A huge shoutout to all our corpsmembers who have traveled to help out other communities!

Last month, Belen's dedication and hard work were recognized at the annual Corps Network Conference in Washington, D.C., where she accepted her award and gave an inspirational speech. There, she was honored as one of the 2025 Corpsmembers of the Year, alongside other awardees from corps around the country.
Belen's journey with the San Jose Conservation Corps has been nothing short of inspiring. From overcoming personal challenges to stepping into leadership roles, she has truly learned and experienced the values of service, community, and environmental stewardship.
