WILDLAND FIREFIGHTING PATHWAY

We are recruiting corpsmembers who are interested in exploring a career in wildland firefighting to participate in a new training pathway! This pathway consists of up to five industry recognized certifications:

• Pre-reqs: FEMA IS-100c and FEMA IS-700b

• Entry Level Wildland Firefighter

• Hand and Power Tooling

• Basic Horticulture for Parks and Public Land Management

• CalTrans Roadside Safety

• Wilderness First Responder (not required)

REDUCING FOOD WASTE

Here is ESUHSD Supervisor Lourdes and CM Italivi, cleaning the food waste bins. They collected approximately 5,000 pounds of food waste from East side high schools and diverted it into compost.

We've been featured by Grassroots Ecology for our collaborative efforts in reducing wildfire risk! The article highlights how corpsmembers have been hard at work managing vegetation, urban greening, stormwater infrastructure, and more! SPRING FUTURES FAIR RECAP

The Spring Futures Fair was a great success! Shoutout to Monica and Hanne for their fantastic work in organizing this event for our corpsmembers. A big thank you to all the organizations and corpsmembers who participated. We hope you made some great connections. 

FEBRUARY CORPSMEMBER OF THE MONTH

Join us in giving a big round of applause for the February Corpsmember of the month, German M.! German has shown his dedication for the environmental field, going on deployments to both Guam and North Carolina, where he assisted in clearing debris from the storms and made impactful change for the local residents. Congratulations again German!
