BLACK HISTORY MONTH EVENT

Join us for the SJCC+CS Black History Event on February 29th from 6:00 - 8:00 PM. This event will be filled with an immersion into pieces of art and delicious Caribbean food! Come support local artists and your fellow corpsmember's pieces of art. Hope to see you there!

BECOME A CALIFORNIA NATURALIST

A paid opportunity to learn and explore Santa Clara Valley! Through the utilization of lectures, assignments, chapter discussions, and in-person field trips, corpsmembers participate in hands-on and field-based activities. They focus on experiential learning and exploration of the Santa Clara Valley's natural resources to increase the knowledge and commitment to environmental stewardship. EDUCATION AWARDS

Congratulations to Eduardo Bernabe, Kylee Leifson, Angel Avila, and Carlos Ledezma for earning their Americorps Education Award! 

COMMUNITY CLEAN UP

Projects continued cleaning up the community this week. They removed an assortment of trash and large objects scattered throughout the city. Check out the pictures above! Keep up the great work!

CALIFORNIA NATURALISTS COYOTE HILLS REGIONAL PARK VISIT

This week graduates from our California Naturalist program visited Coyote Hills Regional Park to participate in an indigenous peoples interpretive program! They learned about the first stewards of the land, the natural resources they used, and the cultural history of the region. Big thanks to the Coyote Hills Naturalists for having us participate in this engaging activity!

Earth Day is coming up in a couple of months, and so is our Earth Day event! In the spirit of a true Earth Day event, we wanted to open up to the broader SJCC+CS community for ideas. 

We believe that a collaborative approach will help us organize an event that reflects the diverse perspectives within our organization. Whether it's themes, activities, or logistical details, we want to hear your thoughts!
