This week's photo highlights our corpsmembers exploring future opportunities during a college campus tour at De Anza Community College. They learned about degree and certification programs, transfer pathways, and how to navigate life as a college student. It was an inspiring day full of questions, curiosity, and new possibilities.

Ulises P.V.
Please give a warm welcome to our three newest Field Site Supervisors: Francisco M., Joey D., and Ulises P.V.!
Some fun facts about each of them:
Francisco M. used to be a corpsmember in the Projects department! He is also an avid outdoorsman who started fishing at 5 years old.
Joey D. worked for the Natural Resource Conservation service, with California being the 6th state he’s worked in. He also likes to read and write mystery stories.
Ulises P.'s goal in life is to one day become a firefighter. He’s training for the CPAT fire agility program. He loves all things Star Wars and Disney.
We’re so excited to welcome these new team members and look forward to all the energy, ideas, and fun they’ll bring to our organization!
Last month, Zero Waste partnered with the Charter School to bring an interactive and educational experience to Mr. Saltman's Nonfiction English Language Development classes. Corpsmembers attended a presentation by Zero Waste Coordinator Charli J., tested their knowledge with a lively Kahoot! quiz, and participated in a hands-on recycling audit outdoors.
A big thank-you to everyone who helped coordinate the event and to all who participated. We hope the experience sparked curiosity and helped corpsmembers walk away with valuable insights about recycling and sustainability.
Zero Waste Corpsmembers are taking food waste from all East Side Union High School District schools to be made into compost at the Newby Island Resource Recovery Park. This week, 1660 lbs. of food was made into compost instead of going to the landfill. Great job, everyone!
